Indonesia is the largest island country in the world, covering almost 2 million square kilometers. In this world there are 17,508 islands and in the world’s largest island country, it is only fitting that the largest lizards in the world have a home. The Bima Sudan measured up to 3.1 meters, making it the largest specimen measured.
Komodo National Park is located within the Lesser Sunda Islands in the border region of East Nusa Tenggara and West Nusa Tenggara. There are 29 islands that make up the park, although only three of them would be considered a large park. When totaled, the land area is about 603 square kilometers of land.
